Down at the Docks + 'Scrap the Suit'

After a long baby break, I am finally back! Looking forward to sharing pictures of our new addition, but first I would like to post this fun session I recently did with one of my favorite families: Shelley, Bob, Alex, and Zach! We started off at the docks in Atlantic Highlands and ended the day with a Communion session for Zach... Years ago, I did Alex's 'Trash the Communion Dress' portraits, so I guess we can call this Zach's 'Scrap the Suit' session :O)

Lacey and Chris's day was a wonderful mixture of rustic beauty infused with modern touches. A constant push and pull between new and old world aesthetics, made for an absolutely magical day. We started at Lacey's parents' log cabin, which was built by her father, secluded in the woods. Next, we headed to Allaire State Park, a quaint, little historic village for the ceremony and a few portraits. Asbury was our last stop, which is the perfect setting for that old meets modern vibe I was catching the whole day. Beautifully restored Asbury with its funky art and new modern design influences was an ideal backdrop for some fun portraits and a great party. Even their venue, Watermark, had rustic elements blended in with an overall contemporary feel. This could be seen with the natural tree branches sprinkled throughout a generally industrial setting or the accents of metal against natural wood. I could go on, but I'll show the pictures now :O) Beautiful day, guys!!!
